Vol. 18 No. 7

CEISTEANNA—QUESTIONS. ORAL ANSWERS. - PAYMENT OF DECREE.

asked the Minister for Finance if he will state why payment at foot of a report, made by Judge Rosenthal in favour of James Brooks, of Murragh, Enniskeane, County Cork, for £16 and costs, in respect of bicycles taken, has not been paid, and if he will state when payment will be made.

Under the Rules of Court every applicant for compensation in the post-Truce period was required to lodge a statutory declaration giving details of his claim with the Clerk of the Peace and to lodge one copy of the declaration with the local State Solicitor and another with my Department. In this case, no copy has been lodged either with my Department or with the State Solicitor, and when the Judge's report was received the applicant's solicitor was asked for a copy of the declaration. He has not yet complied with this request, and until he does so the question of payment cannot be considered.
