Vol. 18 No. 8

EXPENDITURE ON DRAINAGE WORKS—MOTION FOR RETURN.

Motion by Deputy Baxter:
That a return be presented to the Dáil showing the amount of money which was allocated and the amount which has been spent up to the end of the year 1926 by the Department of Finance on drainage under the Drainage Maintenance Act, 1924, in each county of the Saorstát.

It would not be possible to give the return asked for in the motion on the Paper for the reason that many of the drainage districts extend into two or more counties. If the return is asked in the form of expenditure on drainage districts, I am agreeable to furnish it.

That will meet my point.

Motion on Order Paper not moved. The following motion was agreed to:
That a return be presented to the Dáil showing the amount of money proposed to be expended by the Department of Finance on each of the drainage districts in the Saorstát recommended for restoration by the Commissioners of Public Works, the location of such drainage districts and the amount which has actually been expended on each up to 31st December, 1926.
Return ordered accordingly.
