Vol. 18 No. 10

PRIVATE BUSINESS. - DUBLIN PORT AND DOCKS (BRIDGE) BILL, 1927. MESSAGE FROM THE SEANAD.

That it is expedient that a Joint Committee of both Houses be appointed to consider the Dublin Port and Docks (Bridge) Bill, 1927, being a Bill entitled an Act to enable the Dublin Port and Docks Board to rebuild, alter and enlarge Butt Bridge; to provide funds for the execution of these works; to authorise an additional or substituted rate in the place of certain rates and for other purposes.

I move:—

Go n-aontuighidh an Dáil leis an Seanad ina Rún a cuireadh in úil don Dáil an 24adh lá d'Fheabhra, 1927, go bhfuil sé Có-Choiste den Dá Thigh do cheapa chun Bille Port agus Duganna Bhaile Atha Clia (Droichead) 1927, do bhreithniú.

That the Dáil concur with the Seanad in their Resolution communicated to the Dáil the 24th day of February, 1927, that it is expedient that a Joint Committee of both Houses be appointed to consider the Dublin Port and Docks (Bridge) Bill, 1927.

Is there any opposition to the motion?

Might it be put down for Tuesday?

If Deputy Thrift opposes the motion, yes.

I understand that it is virtually giving approval of a Second Reading to the Bill. I am not satisfied that it ought to go through without some discussion, and I suggest that it be put down for Tuesday.

Objection taken. Order that the motion be taken on Tuesday, 1st March.

Motion No. 2 will also be taken on Tuesday.
