Vol. 18 No. 11

WRITTEN ANSWER. - MAYO LAND ANNUITIES.

asked the Minister for Lands and Agriculture if he is aware that the Land Commission have sent receivable orders for interst in lieu of rent to John Joyce and Michael Hession, on the Terence Heaney Estate, County Mayo, for 1927, 1928, 1929; if he will state the reason for the delay in vesting those holdings, and if a refund will be made to those tenants of all money paid over their annuities since they got possession of their holdings in 1919.

Mr. HOGAN

The tenants referred to have paid interest up to 1st November last in accordance with agreements executed by them with the Congested Districts Board, and this interest is payable until they sign purchase agreements and cannot be refunded. The Land Commission hope to be in a position in a short time to tender purchase agreements to these tenants for signature.
