Vol. 18 No. 18

CEISTEANNA—QUESTIONS. ORAL ANSWERS. - LICENSING OF BULLS.

asked the Minister for Lands and Agriculture if he can state how many bulls were presented for licensing between the coming into operation of the Live Stock Breeding Act, 1925, and the 1st March, 1927, and how many licences were refused.

Mr. HOGAN

The number of bulls presented for licensing between the coming into operation of the Live Stock Breeding Act, 1925, and the 1st March, 1927, was 45,811. The number of bulls rejected in the same period is 13,628.

Would the Minister state the number of bulls presented for examination this year and the number rejected?

Mr. HOGAN

I would require notice of that question. I should say that, on the average, about 45 per cent. were rejected.
