Vol. 19 No. 3

CEISTEANNA—QUESTIONS. ORAL ANSWERS. - CLONMORE AND KILLOWEN LANDS (OFFALY).

asked the Minister for Lands and Agriculture if he will state what steps, if any, are being taken by the Land Commission to acquire the lands of Clonmore and Killowen, on the estate of the late T.M. Carew, in the County of Offaly, and if he can state when the said lands may be allotted.

The lands of Clonmore, comprising 180a. 2r. 10p., are lands which have been purchased under the Land Purchase Acts, and are subject to a land purchase annuity. The Land Commission are not prepared to take any steps with regard to their acquisition.

The lands of Killowen comprise a holding of 90a. 1r. 24p., in the occupation of Eugene J. Eivers, on the estate of John Joly, for which particulars have been lodged under the Land Act, 1923. The Land Commission published a notice on the 27th ult. that this holding will be a retained holding, as specified in Section 28, sub-section (6) of the Land Act, and the question of its resumption will be considered in due course.
