Vol. 19 No. 16

CEISTEANNA—QUESTIONS. ORAL ANSWERS. - DRAINAGE ACT PETITIONS.

asked the Minister for Finance how many petitions under the Arterial Drainage Act, 1925, have been received by the Commissioners of Public Works from the County Cavan, and how far the examination of these petitions has proceeded, and in how many cases it is anticipated that works will be carried out this year.

On the 3rd November, 1925, the Commissioners of Public Works received from the Cavan County Council petitions in respect of seven drainage schemes under the Act, but all documents in connection therewith were returned to the County Council on the 9th idem for amendment and have not yet been re-transmitted to the Commissioners. Consequently it has not been possible to proceed with the examination of these petitions and no works can therefore be carried out this year in that county.
