CEISTEANNA—QUESTIONS. ORAL ANSWERS. - RELIEF OF CONGESTION (KILDARE).

asked the Minister for Lands and Agriculture whether he will instruct the Land Commission to acquire one hundred and seventy-one acres of untenanted lands held by Mr. James Lyons in the townland of Castlesize, electoral division of Bodenstown, County Kildare, for the relief of the congest applicants in the district, a partial list of whom (49 in number) has been furnished.

The Land Commission is not at present in a position to state whether they will acquire these lands. The necessary local inquiries are being made.

The lands referred to are subject to land purchase annuity, and at present it is not proposed to take any action in regard to their purchase.
