asked the Minister for Finance what was the total quantity of sugar produced at the Carlow Factory during the season 1926-27; what sum has already been paid by way of subsidy to the Company, and what is the amount, if any, still outstanding.

The total amount of sugar manufactured at the Carlow Factory during the season 1926-27 was eleven thousand nine hundred and seventy-nine tons and ten cwt. Sums amounting in all to £181,502 4s. 9d. were paid to the Irish Sugar Manufacturing Company by way of subsidy on the sugar so manufactured. No part of the amount due on foot of the subsidy is outstanding.
