Vol. 19 No. 22

CEISTEANNA—QUESTIONS. ORAL ANSWERS. - DUBLIN COMPENSATION CLAIM.

PADRAIG O DUBHTHAIGH

asked the Minister for Finance whether he will have inquiries made into the claim for compensation of Mrs. Adelaide Byrne, of 29 Henry Street, Dublin, whose premises were burned down in the Rising of 1916, and in whose case full compensation, as assessed, has not yet been paid.

I have had many representations made to me about this case, which I have considered sympathetically from every angle. There is no compensation payable, and I regret I can hold out no hope of anything in the nature of a grant being made to Mrs. Byrne.
