asked the Minister for Finance if he will give the following information with regard to the administration of Arterial Drainage Act, 1925, namely:—(a) the number of petitions lodged with the Tipperary North Riding County Council, and the Tipperary South Riding County Council respectively, for the carrying out of arterial drainage; (b) the names of the rivers or streams involved or any other information which is necessary for the identification of these petitions; (c) the number and names of petitions examined into and recommended by each County Council; (d) the number of applications which have been examined into by the Office of Public Works in each administrative county, and the number and names of those sanctioned, and the Government grants offered in each case; and (e) the number and names of applications which have been examined into by the Office of Public Works and rejected, and the reasons for rejection.

I have no information as to the number of petitions lodged with the county councils, but I can give the required particulars as to those they have forwarded to the Commissioners of Public Works.
