Vol. 20 No. 20

CEISTEANNA—QUESTIONS. ORAL ANSWERS. - RETURN OF DEPOSIT TO STRAFFAN FARMING SOCIETY.

asked the Minister for Fisheries if he can state when the deposit placed by the Straffan (Co. Kildare) Co-operative Farming Society in the hands of the Land Bank to facilitate a loan will be returned to the Society.

The security deposit lodged with the National Land Bank by the Straffan Co-operative Farming Society, Ltd., in connection with the purchase of the lands amounts to £884, which sum was transferred to the Land Commission and invested as provided by Section 53 of the Land Act, 1923.

Section 45 of the Land Act, 1927, authorities the Land Commission to refund this deposit to the original contributors or to persons claiming through them, and it is anticipated that instructions and forms of application for such refund will be forwarded to the Secretary of the Society at an early date.
