WRITTEN ANSWERS. - SUGAR SUBSIDY AND EXCISE DUTY.
The total sum paid to the Irish Sugar Manufacturing Company by way of subsidy for the year 1926-27 was £181,502 4s. 9d.; and (2) the total amount of excise duty remitted under Section 27 of the Finance Act, 1925, in respect of the sugar on which subsidy was paid was £111,702 3s. 0d.
