An inter-departmental conference which was held some months ago resulted in agreement on certain general principles as to the methods most likely to prove successful in reviving the kelp industry. The results of certain inquiries and negotiations which followed are now about to be considered by the conference. It will, therefore, be some little time before I can make a definite statement on the subject.
