Vol. 22 No. 18

CEISTEANNA—QUESTIONS. ORAL ANSWERS. - AGED PENSIONED TEACHERS.

asked the Minister for Education if he will state how many pensioned teachers, who receive pensions under the Rules of 1897, are now alive, and if he is now prepared to make an increase of pension to those old teachers on the same scale as has been made in similar cases in Northern Ireland.

There are 225 National School teachers in receipt of pensions under the Teachers' Pension Rules of 1897. The answer to the second part of the question is in the negative.
