Vol. 23 No. 1

CEISTEANNA—QUESTIONS. ORAL ANSWERS. - KINSALE LOCAL HOSPITAL.

asked the Minister for Local Government and Public Health if he is aware of the negotiations which have taken place between the Kinsale Urban District Council and the South Cork Board of Public Health, having for their object the re-opening of the local hospital at Kinsale; and if he is prepared to sanction the necessary expenditure which will make the present hospital an up-to-date institution for the treatment of general ailments and fever cases.

The answer to the first part of the question is in the affirmative. As regards the second part, I am prepared to agree to such expenditure as will provide suitable accommodation for a general and fever hospital in the locality. I am in communication with the local authority with a view to obtaining plans, specifications and estimates to enable me to see if their proposals are suitable.
