Vol. 23 No. 2

CEISTEANNA—QUESTIONS. ORAL ANSWERS. - IRRECOVERABLE RATES.

asked the Minister for Local Government and Public Health if he will state the amounts of rates written off as irrecoverable in each district in the following areas: the county boroughs, the urban areas and the rural areas in the Free State, for the financial year ending the 31st March, 1927.

The information asked for is not available in the Department. I am, however, communicating with the local authorities on the matter and will endeavour to obtain the information desired by the Deputy.

Will that information, when it is received, be published in the Official Report?

Perhaps it would be better if the matter arose on another question. If any Deputy interested in the matter approaches me three or four weeks hence, I will be able to let him know what the position is and the extent to which it will be possible to meet his requirements.
