asked the Minister for Defence whether he can state if James Moriarty, Scariff, Mastergeehy, County Kerry, is the man described as James Moriarty, Kerry, in the list of names supplied by his Department as receiving a pension under the Military Service Pensions Act, 1925; and whether he can state the years of service and the service rendered during each particular year which entitle this man to such pension.
The answer to the first part of the question is in the affirmative.
The years of service which entitle James Moriarty to his pension make up the period from the 1st April, 1921, to the 15th August, 1923.
The Board of Assessors reported to me that James Moriarty rendered service as required by the Military Service Pensions Act, 1924, throughout the above period.
asked the Minister for Defence whether he can state if John Shea, Derriana, Mastergeehy, County Kerry, is the man described as John Shea, Kerry, in the list of names supplied by his Department as receiving a pensions under the Military Service Pensions Act, 1925; whether he can state the years of service and the service rendered during each particular year which entitle this man to a pension; and whether he can state the date on which this pension was granted.
The reply to the first part of the question is in the affirmative. The years of service which entitle John Shea to his pension make up the following periods:—
Entire period from 1st April, 1921, to 30th June, 1922.
Entire period from 14th November, 1922, to 30th September, 1923.
The Board of Assessors reported to me that he rendered service as required by the Military Service Pensions Act, 1924, throughout these periods.
The pension was granted to him on the 24th September, 1927.
