Vol. 25 No. 4

CEISTEANNA—QUESTIONS. WRITTEN ANSWERS. - TOBACCO GROWING EXPERIMENTS.

asked the Minister for Lands and Agriculture whether he will make available for reference and future guidance in a single volume, an account of the experiments in tobacco-growing conducted over a period of twenty-five years by the Department of Agriculture and Technical Instruction, in view of the fact that such information as is now available must be sought for in more than thirty volumes of the Journal, and is nowhere to be found in a complete and readily intelligible form.

As the Government have decided definitely not to carry out any further experiments in tobacco-growing I consider that the labour and expense involved in publishing in one volume all the reports up to the present issued in connection with the tobacco experiments would scarcely be justified. I will, however, give the matter further consideration when all the necessary material for a final report has been received by my Department.
