Vol. 26 No. 12

CEIST—QUESTION. WRITTEN ANSWER. - UNEMPLOYMENT BENEFIT CLAIM (ATHY).

asked the Minister for Industry and Commerce whether he is aware that James Bradley, Woodstock Street, Athy, Serial No. 2079, Athy Office, has not received any unemployment insurance benefit although he has 25 stamps to his credit, and has been signing the register since he lodged his claim on the 22nd September, 1928, and whether he will have payment of benefit expedited.

James Bradley, Woodstock Street, Athy, U.I. Book No. (Athy) 2079, claimed U.I. benefit on the 22nd September last. His claim was duly authorised for payment of 25 days' benefit in respect of the 25 contributions standing to the credit of his account with the Unemployment Insurance Fund and he was paid benefit in respect of the period up to and including the 3rd October. It then transpired that Mr. Bradley was in receipt of home help and it was necessary, therefore, to make certain inquiries with a view to adjustments required by Section 14 of the Unemployment Insurance Act of 1922 to be made between my Department and the Home Help authority. The matter has now been settled, and Mr. Bradley will receive payment of all the unemployment benefit due to him at an early date.
