Vol. 28 No. 4

Ceisteanna—Questions. Oral Answers. - Co. Tipperary Estates.

asked the Minister for Lands and Fisheries whether he is aware that the Barrymore Estate, Cordangan, Co. Tipperary, and the Green Baker and Heuston ranches, Lattin, Co. Tipperary, are let on the eleven months system; and whether, in view of the large number of uneconomic holders and landless people in these districts, it is intended to sub-divide those lands amongst them, and, if so, whether he will state when such sub-division will take place.

Schemes for the division of the lands on the Barrymore Estate at Cordangan and of the lands of Ballinard, Ballinglanna and Illaunmeen, on the Estate of Allan Baker, and of the lands of Ballynadruckilly and Shronell, on the Estate of Nicholas Grene, are in course of preparation. The necessary proceedings are being taken with a view to the acquisition of the lands of Ballynagleragh, on the Estate of Nicholas J. Grene, but it is not possible at present to say when they may be acquired. As regards the Heuston Estate, the Commissioners are not yet in a position to say what action they will take in the matter. The lands are subject to Land Purchase Annuity.
