Vol. 28 No. 4

Ceisteanna—Questions. Oral Answers. - Co. Mayo Estate.

asked the Minister for Lands and Fisheries whether he will state when the Land Commission intend to distribute the lands known as the Colnaha Farm, Aughamore, Ballyhaunis, County Mayo, amongst the uneconomic landholders of the district; whether he will state when the vendor of these lands, Mrs. K. Waldron, will receive the money due to her as the purchase price of these lands.

These lands, consisting of 75a. 0r. 29p. of Colnaha North, were distributed in November last amongst 12 allottees—11 small-holders and the herd—who were placed in occupation under Temporary Convenience agreements. The purchase money has been advanced and is to credit of the estate in the Court of the Irish Land Commission for payment to the parties who may be ascertained to be legally entitled thereto. The title to the purchase money has been examined, and the Examiner's rulings on title have recently been issued to the owner's solicitors, and when such rulings have been complied with the matter will be listed before the Judicial Commissioner for distribution of the funds to credit.
