Vol. 28 No. 7

Written Answers. - Corrib Drainage Scheme.

asked the Minister for Finance if he will state what progress has been made in regard to the agreed Corrib Drainage scheme.

The Deputy will remember the reply that I gave to a deputation of Galway Deputies on the 21st November last, to the effect that it was my intention to recommend to the Minister for Finance that the Lough Corrib, Mask and Carra drainage district should be restored under the Drainage Maintenance Act, 1924, so far as that was economic. The matter is at present being re-investigated by the Chief Drainage Engineer, and it is hoped that his report as to the proposed works and estimated cost will shortly be available.
