Vol. 29 No. 7

Ceisteanna—Questions. Oral Answers. - Vesting of Wexford Estate.

asked the Minister for Lands and Fisheries when it is proposed that the lands on the George Estate, Wexford, will be vested in the tenants; and whether it is intended to have the drainage and repairs of embankments, in accordance with Section 20 of the Land Act, 1927, carried out on this estate before vesting.

A provisional list of lands on this estate to vest in the Land Commission under the Land Act, 1923, has been gazetted this week and a Land Commission Inspector will now visit as soon as possible the lands and report generally on the estate, including the drainage and the embankments thereon, and when the Commissioners receive his report they will consider the question of the application of Section 20 of the Land Act, 1927.

Could the Parliamentary Secretary state whether the drainage would be carried out in the present year.

No, I could not.
