Vol. 29 No. 7

Ceisteanna—Questions. Oral Answers. - Ballynunty (Co. Tipperary) Estate.

asked the Minister for Lands and Fisheries whether the promise contained in the letter dated January 17th, 1929, that an inspector would visit the lands of Mr. W.P. Hanly, situated at Ballynunty, Co. Tipperary, has been carried out; and, if so, what action (if any) has been taken on his report; and further, whether these nonresidential ranch lands which are urgently needed for relief of local congestion and unemployment will be soon acquired for division, and whether he is aware that these 360 acres give employment to only one man, that there is neither tillage nor milch cows on the estate, and that unemployment is rife locally, while the lands properly farmed would give much-needed relief.

An inspector has not yet been able to reach the estate for the purpose of furnishing a report on the lands referred to, but it is hoped he will be able soon to do so.
