Vol. 29 No. 14

Ceisteanna—Questions. Oral Answers. - Free Meals for School Children.

asked the Minister for Lands and Fisheries whether it is intended to introduce proposals for legislation to authorise the provision of free meals for children attending National Schools in the congested areas as promised in the statement of Government policy on the recommendations of the Gaeltacht Commission.

Data has already been obtained and is under examination and consideration with a view to the introduction of legislation on the subject.

Can the Minister give any indication as to when the promised legislation will be introduced?

It is in abeyance quite a long time.
