Vol. 30 No. 9

Betting Bill, 1929—First Stage.

I ask leave to introduce a Bill entitled an Act to extend for a limited period the time during which the Betting Act, 1926, shall continue in force.

I would like to ask the Minister if any decision has been arrived at with reference to the unanimous recommendation of the Betting Committee, that the tax on race-course betting should be immediately removed.

That does not arise now.

Leave granted.
Bill read a first time.
Second Stage fixed for June 12th.
