Vol. 31 No. 4

Ceisteanna—Questions. Oral Answers. - Rebuilding of Kerry Wall.

asked the Minister for Lands and Fisheries if he will state whether the Church Body received £250 compensation on consideration that they rebuild the boundary wall on the roadside of the Glebe lands attached to the Rectory, Cloghane, Ventry, Dingle, and if the Minister will now state whether he intends compelling the Church Body or the recipient of the compensation, to rebuild the wall

A sum of £130 with interest from the 1st November, 1923, and £14 9s. Od. costs, was awarded to the Representative Church Body of the Church of Ireland by the Compensation (Ireland) Commission in respect of damage to the Glebe wall surrounding the Rectory at Ventry. No reinstatement condition was attached to the award, and payment was made by my Department in the ordinary way on the 28th January, 1924. I have no power to compel the Representative Church Body to rebuild the wall in question.
