Dáil Éireann debate -
Wednesday, 23 Oct 1929

Vol. 32 No. 1

Private Deputies' Business. - Erasmus Smith Endowment.

Debate resumed on Motion.
"That the Dáil is of opinion that a Commission appointed by the Executive Council should be set up to inquire into and report on the application of the Erasmus Smith Endowment, and, if necessary, submit a scheme for the administration thereof."

Litigation has opened upon this matter, and, in fact, the writ was issued to-day. The legal advisers of both parties have come to an agreement regarding matters. I believe, that might be relevant in the case that is to come before the court and, also, some agreement or understanding regarding the expenses, and in view of this understanding I ask the leave of the Dáil to withdraw the motion.

Motion by leave withdrawn.
