Ceisteanna—Questions. Oral Answers. - Imports of Petrol and Motor Spirits.

asked the Minister for Industry and Commerce if he can state how much petrol and/ or other spirit for driving motors and other engines was imported into the Free State during the period of twelve months ending 31st August, 1929, and how much was used during the same period.

The quantity of petroleum motor spirit imported into the Free State during the period of twelve months ended 31st August, 1929, was 26,280,443 gallons. There were also imported in the same period 13,620,910 gallons of petroleum lamp oil. Information is not available as to the quantity of either of these commodities, in fact, used for driving motors or for other purposes during the period.
