Vol. 32 No. 8

Ceisteanna—Questions. Oral Answers. - The Forestry Act.

asked the Minister for Agriculture whether any part, and if so what part, of the Forestry Act, 1928, has yet been put into force.

Mr. Hogan

For the reason given in my reply to a question by Deputy Corish on 24th ultimo, it has not hitherto been feasible to make an order bringing the Forestry Act into operation. I hope, however, to be in a position to do so in the immediate future.

Has the Minister yet arrived at any agreement with the Minister for Finance in this matter?

Mr. Hogan

Yes; the staff, for the purpose of bringing the Forestry Act into operation, has been agreed upon now between the Minister for Finance and myself.

Does that mean that something will be done for forestry during this winter?

Mr. Hogan

It does.
