asked the Minister for Lands and Fisheries whether he will state (a) the number of acres of land which have been distributed amongst uneconomic holders and landless men in County Donegal since the passing of the Land Act, 1923; (b) the number of persons who have received land, and (c) the number of additional acres of land which will be distributed prior to the New Year.
Written Answers. - Land Distributed under 1923 Act.
Under the Land Acts 1923-9, a total area of 2,027 acres of untenanted land in County Donegal has been distributed to date among 188 allottees. A further area of 194 acres in that county will be distributed shortly.
In addition the Land Commission has distributed in County Donegal since 1923 some 6,500 acres of untenanted land on estates acquired by the late Congested Districts Board, bringing the total area of untenanted land distributed in that county since 1923 to over 8,500 acres.
