(An Clár) asked the Minister for Justice if he will state whether his Department has instituted inquiries into the alleged ill-treatment of Jeremiah Madigan, Derrylough, Killimer, County Clare, by members of the detective division of the Gárda Síochána, whether he has seen an affidavit made by Mr. Madigan in which the names of certain members of the Gárda Síochána are mentioned as having taken part in the assault, and if he will state how the inquiry by his Department was conducted, and who was responsible for making the inquiries.

I have seen no affidavit made by Jeremiah Madigan, of Derrylough, Killimer, County Clare.
