Vol. 32 No. 14

Supplementary and Additional Estimate. - Vote 55—Land Commission.

The Dáil went into Committee on Finance.

I move:—

"Go ndeontar suim bhreise ná raghaidh thar £32,000 chun íoctha an Mhuirir a thiocfidh chun bheith iníoctha i rith na bliana dar críoch an 31 adh lá de Mhárta, 1930, chun Tuarastail agus Costaisí Oifig Choimisiún Talmhan na hEireann.

That a supplementary sum not exceeding £32,000 be granted to defray the Charge which will come in course of payment during the year ending 31st March, 1930, for the salaries and expenses of the Office of the Irish Land Commission."

As Deputies will see by the Estimate, the money now asked for is required to supplement the sub-head under the Vote for the improvement of estates. It is suggested that it would be more desirable not to enter upon a discussion of the Land Commission work in this matter on this Supplementary Estimate to-day. If the House will accept that, then we undertake that immediately on the resumption after Christmas a token Vote will be introduced which will give the House a full opportunity of debating the matter.

Question put and agreed to.
Report of Resolution agreed to.
