Vol. 33 No. 1

Ceisteanna—Questions. Oral Answers. - Teachers' Certificates in Irish.

asked the Minister for Education if he will state why the Education Office has refused to furnish to the teachers the marks obtained by them in the examination held in November, 1928, for certificates in Irish.

It is now the practice to publish in pamphlet form the marks obtained at such examinations, including the examination referred to in the question. The pamphlet can be obtained through Messrs. Eason and Son, Ltd., O'Connell Street, Dublin. In the circumstances it is not considered that the Department would be justified in issuing the marks individually to the teachers who sat at the examination. I am, however, considering whether it would not be more convenient to discontinue the publication of the pamphlet and to notify each teacher of the marks he has obtained.
