Ceisteanna—Questions. Oral Answers. - Streedagh Lands (Sligo).

asked the Minister for Lands and Fisheries whether the Land Commission propose to acquire from Mr. Ormsby Jones his holding at Streedagh, Co. Sligo, for division, in order to relieve local congestion.

The Land Commission have under consideration the question of the acquisition of the holding of Mr. Ormsby Jones at Streedagh which was purchased by him under the Land Purchase Acts, and the case has been referred to an inspector for a further report and valuation.

Can the Parliamentary Secretary state if the owner of this farm has put it up for public auction and has tried to dispose of it several times by private treaty, and whether an inspector will be sent from the Land Commission to inspect it in the near future.

An inspector has already been instructed to make a further report and valuation of these lands.
