Vol. 34 No. 18

Ceisteanna—Questions. Oral Answers. - Dáil Eireann Loan Repayments.

asked the Minister for Finance whether he will state if he has received a list of names of subscribers to Dáil Eireann Internal Loan (1919-1920) from those responsible for collection in Bruree, Co. Limerick; and, if so, how soon he proposes to pay the people who subscribed thereto.

Bruree district comprises the parishes of Rockhill and Bruree. A list of subscribers to the Dáil Loan in the parish of Rockhill was received in my Department and repayment to the subscribers who made application within the prescribed period and furnished satisfactory evidence in support of their claims has already been authorised. No list was received from the parish of Bruree. A number of subscribers in this parish have, however, furnished satisfactory evidence in support of their claims, and the Department of Posts and Telegraphs has recently been authorised to issue Savings Certificates to the majority of these. I hope to be in a position to authorise repayment in favour of the remainder at an early date.
