Vol. 34 No. 18

Ceisteanna—Questions. Oral Answers. - Little Cullenstown (Co. Wexford) School.

asked the Minister for Education if any representation has been made to his Department, with a view to the provision of a new school at Little Cullenstown, Co. Wexford, to replace the existing building; if he is aware of the very bad state of repair of this particular school; if not, whether he will have an immediate inspection made.

It is assumed that the Deputy refers to Cullenstown National School, in the parish of Clongeen. The condition of these school premises is not satisfactory, and my Department is in correspondence with the Commissioners of Public Works as to whether the building can be reconstructed and improved so as to afford suitable accommodation for the pupils, or whether it will be necessary to provide an entirely new schoolhouse.

My Department will communicate with the Manager when a report from the Commissioners of Public Works has been received and considered.
