Vol. 35 No. 10

Ceisteanna—Questions. Oral Answers. - Going Estate, Co. Tipperary.

asked the Minister for Lands and Fisheries if he is aware that a grazier has turned in 50 head of cattle on the Going Estate, Ballyphilip, Co. Tipperary; if he will state what steps the Land Commission have taken to acquire this estate for division amongst the landless men and uneconomic holders in the vicinity, and if he will furnish the report of the inspectors who visited these lands.

The Land Commission have at present under consideration the question of the acquisition of the lands of Ballyphilip, the property of the late Mr. E. A. Hughes. I have no information as to how the lands are being used at the moment, but it is quite possible that the widow of the late owner has let them for grazing. The report of the inspector is prepared for the information of the Land Commission and cannot be furnished.
