Vol. 36 No. 1

Ceisteanna—Questions. Oral Answers. - Electricity Supply Board Employees.

Tomás O Maoláin

asked the Minister for Justice whether any circular was issued from the Commissioner's Office of the Gárda Síochána asking for inquiries to be made in each Gárda district as to members of the I.R.A. who have found employment with the Electricity Supply Board, and also requesting that the full name, native place, and address of each employee of the Board in each district with the history of each such individual be forwarded to the Commissioner's Office; and, if so, and whether in view of the insecurity felt as a result, he will state what action he proposes to take in the matter.

I am aware that a circular of this kind was issued. I do not propose to take any action.

Does the Minister admit that the circular was issued?

I admit it was issued, and it was a very proper circular, too.
