Vol. 36 No. 1

Ceisteanna—Questions. Oral Answers. - Repairs to s.s. “Alexandria.”

Tomás O Maoláin

asked the Minister for Industry and Commerce if he is aware that repairs to the s.s. "Alexandria," of the Irish Lights Commissioners, were done recently in Scotland, and whether the British Board of Trade communicated with his Department before the Scotch tender for the repairs was accepted, and, if so, whether any representations were made by him to have this work given to the Cork or Dublin dockyards.

The answer to the first and third parts of the question is in the affirmative. With regard to the second part, the correspondence which has passed with the Board of Trade was initiated by my Department.
