Vol. 36 No. 1

Ceisteanna—Questions. Oral Answers. - Grain Inquiry Tribunal.

asked the Minister for Agriculture whether he has received any Report from the Grain Inquiry Tribunal relative to the application made by the Irish Grain Growers' Association; whether he intends introducing proposals for legislation giving effect to the proposals contained in the application, and if so, when.

The answer to the first part of the question is in the negative. I am not in a position to reply to the concluding portion until the Report referred to has been received and considered.

Could the Minister give any indication of when he expects that Report, considering that we were promised to have it very nearly twelve months ago?

Mr. Hogan

The Report is being drafted, I understand.

What stage is that exactly?

Mr. Hogan

Final.

How long does it take to draft it?

Mr. Hogan

I do not know.

Will the Report be drafted by the body that has been set up or the one that has disappeared?

Mr. Hogan

The Report will be drafted by the one that heard the evidence, naturally.

At the same rate of progress as they heard the evidence?
