Vol. 36 No. 1

Ceisteanna—Questions. Oral Answers. - Exchange of Land.

asked the Minister for Lands and Fisheries whether he can state if there is any prospect of securing an exchange of land for Louis P. Acheson, Grange, Co. Roscommon, in return for the Grange farm, comprising 255 acres; whether any progress has been made since 29th November, 1928, towards securing such exchange, and whether he is aware that the area adjoining Grange is a particularly congested one, and whether, in view of this fact, he will expedite the necessary exchange and have the lands acquired and subdivided.

Mr. Hogan

It has not yet been possible to provide suitable lands to offer Mr. Acheson in exchange for his lands of Grange. The Land Commission are aware of the congestion existing in the neighbourhood and for the purpose of relieving it have been endeavouring to acquire these lands and an exchange therefore will be carried out as early as practicable.
