Vol. 36 No. 1

Ceisteanna—Questions. Oral Answers. - Protection Duties on Wrapping Paper.

asked the Minister for Finance whether the Tariff Commission has yet reported on the application for protection duties on imported wrapping paper and cardboard, and, if not, when it is anticipated the report will be ready.

The report of the Tariff Commission on this application has been circulated.

Will the Minister state if the Dáil will have an opportunity of discussing the report when the report has been issued?

I am sure an effort to find time will be made if any Deputy puts down a motion.

Can we take that as a promise? I would like to draw the Minister's attention to the fact that a motion of a similar kind has been on the Order Paper for a considerable time, and it has not been discussed yet.

I think the Deputy will recollect that there were times when, if the Deputy had pressed the matter, we could have managed to find time to discuss it.
