Vol. 36 No. 4

Question on Adjournment.

In view of the unsatisfactory answer given by the Minister for Local Government to Question 16 to-day and owing to the urgency of the matter I wish to give notice that I shall raise the matter on the adjournment.

Before the Deputy wastes the time of the House by raising the matter on the adjournment I should like to know does he understand that he wishes to raise a question as to the neglect of the Local Government Department in respect of a matter over which the Galway Co. Council has complete power?

Yes. But two years ago a relief grant was passed by this House and this was one of the matters about which I made representations. Nothing was done then and nothing has been done since then and I think it is up to the Minister to see that this case is looked into as it is one of the worst in Ireland.

We shall take the notice provisionally and see what can be done before the adjournment. If it is a matter for the Minister we shall take the notice.
