Vol. 36 No. 5

Ceisteanna—Questions. Oral Answers. - A Co. Roscommon Estate.

asked the Minister for Lands and Fisheries if he will state what the present position is with regard to the Ada B. Jackson Estate, Co. Roscommon.

Particulars of the estate referred to have been lodged by the owner and a Provisional List of the lands to be vested in the Land Commission on the appointed day has been published.

Notices have been gazetted of the intention of the Land Commission to retain with a view to resumption, pursuant to the provisions of Section 28 of the Land Act, 1923, the holdings of Patrick E. O'Malley, James Molloy and Thomas O'Neill, in the townland of Cashelmeehan.

The Land Commission have not yet fixed the appointed day for this estate.

Mr. Boland

Is the Parliamentary Secretary aware that it is six years ago since an ex-Deputy—Deputy Finlay—was informed by the Minister at the time that this question was receiving consideration. I have raised the matter on at least three occasions since I came into the Dáil. Could the Minister say if there is any prospect of having it done before the spring?

Mr. Boland

When will it be done?

I cannot say. Resumption proceedings are very slow.
