Vol. 37 No. 2

Ceisteanna—Questions. Oral Answers. - Teachers' Pension Fund.

asked the Minister for Finance if he can now say when he will be in a position to place before the Executive of the Irish National Teachers' Organisation the Government's proposals in connection with the Teachers' Pension Fund.

The second Report of the Actuary in regard to the condition of the National Teachers' Pen sion Fund has been received, and is at present being examined in my Department and that of the Minister for Education. The formulation of proposals is necessarily a matter of some difficulty owing to the complicated character of the problem, but I hope to be in a position at an early date to discuss the matter further with the Irish National Teachers' Organisation.

Mr. O'Connell

Can the Minister say if that date is likely to be during the next month?

I could not say.
