Vol. 37 No. 2

Ceisteanna—Questions. Oral Answers. - Vocational Education Curricula.

asked the Minister for Education if he will state why, in Part II (Organisation and Curricula) of the Memorandum circulated for the guidance and information of vocational education committees, History and Civics were not included in the suggested Curricula.

The only curriculum for which a list of subjects is mentioned in the Memorandum referred to is that suggested on page 14 for part-time continuation classes, and in that case it is merely stated that the course of instruction should include at least two subjects, one of which is a practical or hand-work subject. History and Civics were not considered suitable for inclusion in the list from which the subjects for such a course should be selected.
