Vol. 37 No. 5

Ceisteanna—Questions. Oral Answers. - Reports from Saorstát Representatives Abroad.

asked the Minister for External Affairs whether it is intended to publish periodical reports from the representatives of the Saorstát in foreign countries; whether any such reports have yet been requested; and, if so, whether publication may be expected at an early date.

It is not the custom in any country to publish reports other than trade reports of representatives abroad. It is my intention to publish trade reports from time to time as soon as our offices abroad are sufficiently staffed and organised to produce such reports. I hope to be able to let the Oireachtas have a report on our trade with Great Britain within the next two months.

No date has been fixed for the reports?

No date, but I can say, roughly, within six months.

Will these reports be issued at regular intervals in future?

That is what we are aiming at, but I cannot give any precise information on the matter at the moment.
