Vol. 37 No. 5

Ceisteanna—Questions. Oral Answers. - Acquisition of Co. Meath Lands.

asked the Minister for Lands and Fisheries if he will state when he proposes to acquire for division the Langan Estate, Kilwarden, Hill of Down, Co. Meath.

The Land Commission have had an inspection made of the lands of Kilwarden, and the question of their acquisition is at present under consideration.

asked the Minister for Lands and Fisheries if he will state when he proposes to acquire for the relief of uneconomic holders the estate known as the Lett Estate, Dogstown, Trim, containing, more or less, 170 statute acres.

The land to which the Deputy probably refers is the holding at Dogstown, containing 167a. 2r. 23p., which was vested in Mrs. Elizabeth Lett under the Land Acts, 1923-29, on the 7th of June, 1929. The Land Commission fully considered the question of retaining this holding and decided, in all the circumstances of the case, to resell the lands to the tenant.
